Sources are reporting that Sean ‘Puffy’ Combs has proposed to R&B singing girlfriend Cassie. Cassie was seen sporting a huge rock on her engagement finger when the pair were out together at Rick Ross’ birthday celebrations in Miami. Puffy is frequently linked with a number of women by the media, but Cassie is one name that has been linked with his for some time - can it be true that Puff is ready to commit to her?

Lil Wayne has been told to stay of his skateboard for a few days after damaging his shoulder while hitting the ramps. The rapper, who has just released his own line of skateboard clothing, took a fall while skating at his Miami home. Weezy explained, “Unfortunately I was skating and I tried to do an ollie down one of my banks and I tailed out at the end of it," he went on, "I ain't worried about the pain, it hurts like hell but the worst thing is that I couldn't really skate. I always get injured but I never get an injury where I can't get back on the board. Remember we had the nine stitches? That didn't mean we couldn't skate the next day, so we skated the next day."

Nicki Minaj is heading back to the Grammys this year, but is looking far more likely to scoop a win in 2012. Nicki, however, is staying grounded, as she explained, “I was at the Grammy’s last year and it was like I didn’t even exist then now to be performing and be nominated, it’s a big deal. I’m not going to be nervous about winning because I really don’t think I’m going to win anything. The way I look at it is, I know eventually in my career I’m going to have Grammys. This year is just about being nominated and feeling grateful. Feeling like my fans and I have come a very long way and we’re just going to celebrate this moment. Nothing else matters –winning or not winning, it doesn’t matter. It just matters that they get to see a girl from the hood take these steps and continue to take these steps just with hard work.” Nicki went on, talking about getting recognition for her work, “At the end of the day, everybody wants to be recognized and everybody wants to at least feel like you recognize that this is hard work. People think that they can become an artist overnight. People think that a cute face or a nice car makes them a rapper but a musician is so much more than that. In terms of me and my career the Grammys is everything and the only thing to a music artist. It’s what you live for and this is what you work for.”

Eminem has been hit with a $9 million lawsuit related to his ‘Born of Fire’ commercial for Chrysler. Homeless man, Stephen Lee Pieck, of Ossining in Westchester New York, filed the lawsuit, offering two contact numbers, his mother’s home and a cell phone. Pieck claims that he was in a Legal Seafood restaurant in White Plains New York, on September 9, 2010 with Jordon Bratman and Christina Aguilera, when the pop singer called Eminem. Aguilera is said to have handed the phone to Pieck, who gave Eminem the idea for the Chrysler commercial. Pieck submitted a hand-written lawsuit to the court, saying, “I want the court to reward me a judgment in the amount of $9 million. I designed every aspect of the commercial and the commercial was stolen from me. In addition, I did not receive compensation in monetary terms for the work I did.”

Dancehall singer Elephant Man has been arrested in his native Jamaica and charged with sexual assault and rape. He is suspected of having raped a 31 year-old woman at his St Andrew home last month. Elephant Man, real name O’Neil Bryan, was questioned by police in the presence of his lawyer before officials decided they had enough information to charge him with grievous sexual assault and rape. Elephant Man was granted a $400,000 bail and has been handed a preliminary court date of May 21^st.

Nicki Minaj was interviewed by the UK’s ‘Wonderland’ magazine, where she revealed the contents of her tour rider, and more. Nicki Minaj spoke on her love of London, saying, “I was born in London in my past life, no one can tell me different. I probably was like a queen in London, I was probably the people’s queen that fought for lives … and I probably started off as a maid and then was just, like, really revolutionary and moved all my [Barbies] into the big queen mansion.” Talking of Barbies, the ‘Pink Friday’ MC spoke on the popular toy that she has co-opted for her image, explaining, “I feel like Barbie is great because it doesn’t only focus on beauty – you have Barbies that work, they have tons of different jobs now. And they come in different shades, which I love, and different hairstyles. So I think that they’ve gotten to the point where they’re making girls feel like it’s OK not to look like or be like the traditional Barbie. Now in terms of a body image, even male action figure dolls are cut up more than the average man – it’s just how people make dolls!” While certainly playing up to her persona, Nicki did reveal a quieter side to herself too, “Obviously what I would wear at home is not what I would wear up on stage and I think, when I’m at home it’s a way more introspective character and I think the person people see on stage is anything but.” She went on to five an insight into her home-life, including her cooking skills, “I watch a lot of Judge Judy. And I watch a lot of Forensic Files. And I cook – I cook spaghetti really, really good; I cook macaroni and cheese really, really good; I cook chicken really, really good.”

Reports are coming in saying that Don Cornelius, the creator of legendary TV show, ‘Soul Train’ has been found dead at his Sherman Oaks, CA home of an apparent suicide. Police found the body at 4 am PT. Cornelius had died from what seems to have been a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Cornelius’ family have been informed of his death. Don Cornelius was famous for bring ‘Soul Train’ to television screens, the show which changed the landscape of the small screen when it debuted in 1971, running until 2006. Don Cornelius was 75.

Word has it that the Wu-Tang logo and the affiliation that went with it was for sale at the right price to crews who wanted to be down. A rumor has broken saying that the Rza responded to an international clamor to be down with the W by renting the brand out, thereby making international affiliates to the Staten Island crew. Business-minded, empire-building, or just money-making?

B.E.T. have banned Nicki Minaj’s ‘Stupid Hoe’ video from their channel. A representative for the channel confirmed that the Hype Williams directed video was banned, because it is too explicit for the network. It was felt that both the chorus and the video itself were too much for the channel to show. The video has, however, still proven popular, with millions of YouTube views…

British female rapper M.I.A. has spoken on her upcoming Super Bowl appearance alongside Nicki Minaj and Madonna. The ‘Paper Planes’ MC revealed, “Yes, I'm going to the Super Bowl. Actually I've never been to the Super Bowl, so it's my first time. I'm going to be performing with Madonna and Nicki Minaj. If you're gonna go to the Super Bowl, you might as well go there with America's biggest female icons!" Let’s hope she can step up to the plate on this one… sorry, wrong sport!

Reports had suggested that Flavor Flav was hit by his 19 year-old daughter during a family spat at his home in Las Vegas. While daughter, Dazayna, was taken in by the police, Flavor turned around and cleared up the talk, saying, “The whole thing was a big misunderstanding that shouldn't have happened. No one in my family called the cops on my daughter and she did not beat me up." Dazayna has since been released from custody.

Rapper Maino caught some speculation last week when his track, ‘I Still Love You,’ was released, with many people saying that it showed how he still had a jones for his ex, Lil Kim. However, the New York MC cleared up the talk, saying, “I think people are taking it way out of context. You know when you have relationships with certain people, you may have real genuine love for them but you just can't f*ck with them? That's all I was saying. ... I still got love for you, we don't really f*ck with each other but I still got love for you. You know the thing is, I saw the comments, 'Oh Maino's in love with Lil Kim.' They forgot in the song that I said, 'I was your brother.' ... You know when you got love for somebody but you can love them from afar, you want them to do their thing but y'all aren't built for close proximity. That's all."

Young Money rapper Cory Gunz was arrested in his New York City hometown after a search revealed he was carrying a firearm. Cory Gunz was arrested in the Bronx after police found the loaded gun in his backpack. Gunz has no prior criminal record, but New York law mandates a prison sentence of three and a half years for illegal possession of a loaded weapon. The rapper’s father, Peter Gunz, gave his take on the situation, saying, “It was definitely an illegal search." Peter added, “I spoke to the arresting officer, and so far, what I'm hearing from him is that they got a phone call at the station saying they should 'look out.' According to [the officer], they didn't know he was Cory Gunz. They just saw a bunch of kids following him around. What I will say is that the officer that arrested Cory, actually happened to be a cool dude. After arresting Cory, sitting down with him and talking, he felt bad about the situation."
